in Santa Croce e Tuscany
Cerchi Chapel, Florence

Magister Art has developed for the Cerchi Chapel a new experience, interactive and accessible by touchscreen, dedicated to the figure of St. Francis.

Located in the monumental complex of Santa Croce in Florence, the starting point of Francis’ route in Tuscany the Cerchi Chapel was recently reopened to the public following a redevelopment project.

The project, commissioned by the Opera of Santa Croce and the Region of Tuscany, involved Magister Art in the artistic direction of a new interactive touchscreen experience that allows visitors to learn about and explore the figure of St. Francis of Assisi through three different thematic itineraries.

With a simple touch on a 32” touch screen, the new software in the Cerchi Chapel allows visitors to access a wide range of information, images and historical details that both tell the story of the Saint of Assisi through an interactive timeline and present the places linked to his figure in Tuscany. The monitors also offer visitors the possibility of exploring in detail the wonderful Pala Bardi, kept in the Santa Croce complex.

Designed in accordance with the latest accessibility standards, the software offers a fluid user experience, adapted to the needs of each visitor, involving them through multimedia narration.

The Cerchi Chapel was reopened with the new layout on 28 November 2023, inaugurated with speeches by Cristina Acidini, President of the Opera di Santa Croce, Father Giancarlo Corsini, Rector of the Basilica, Eugenio Giani, President of the Region of Tuscany, Maria Federica Giuliani, Councillor of the Municipality of Florence, Francesco Tapinassi, Director of Toscana Promozione Turistica and Stefano Filipponi, Secretary General of the Opera di Santa Croce.
