“The 50th Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii event” celebrates the 50th anniversary of the shooting of Adrian Maben’s concert film. The Archaeological Park of Pompeii and the TIM Group produce the event under the artistic and creative direction of Magister Art and with the technical direction of Gs Net. The event features exceptional scenic, multimedia and audio-visual solutions: the light show and video mapping, conceived to recreate the lost iconographic apparatus of the Amphitheatre, are followed by the projection of RELIVING AT POMPEII, a docu-film directed by Luca Mazzieri, Magister Art, for this anniversary, to pay tribute to the Archaeological Park and to the intuition Maben had to use the Amphitheatre as a set for the concert film.

The narrative is divided into five short episodes on the creative moments and the difficulties the director experienced, in an intimate journey through the external and internal places of the Archaeological Park and the city of Pompeii, to go to the origins of that intuition which led then to the first take of his film.

The episodes narrate the genesis of the film, made even before the huge success of “The Dark Side of the Moon” - which later became “cult” - contextualizing it to the present day, targeting a new audience in 2021. The event ends with the screening of the Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii film conceived and made by Adrian Maben in 1971.

The event setting will be equally evocative and in line with the identity of the celebrated event: the Amphitheater will host only a monolithic screen, without the presence of any live audience, faithful to the anti-Woodstock concept of the original film, a concentration of iconic images and music in its pure essence: it marked an unprecedented pivotal shift in the execution of live rock music.
