12.04.2025 - 30.08.2025

MOSAICO. Italian Code of a Timeless Art opens at the Humayun’s Tomb Museum in New Delhi, during the same week the city hosts the Italy-India Scientific and Technological Business Forum (April 10–11, 2025), promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE). The Indian stop of the exhibition, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, was inaugurated in the presence of the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani.

The journey into and exploration of Italy’s mosaic heritage takes place in one of the city’s most iconic locations: the Humayun’s Tomb Museum, housed within the commemorative complex of the Mughal Emperor Humayun’s tomb—a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose extraordinary architecture inspired the aesthetic of the Taj Mahal.

Produced by the Directorate General for Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, conceived and created by Magister Art, the groundbreaking multimedia exhibition tells the story of Italy through one of its most captivating and enduring artistic languages: mosaic art. A fascinating journey through two thousand years of history—rich in gold and symbols, allegories and ancient techniques, leading up to the most innovative contemporary expressions. An uninterrupted and extraordinary path connecting emblematic sites such as Rome, Pompeii, Aquileia, Ravenna, Palermo, Monreale, Piazza Armerina, and the submerged city of Baiae.
